# Roles & permissions

> Four workspace roles — Owner, Admin, Member, and Viewer — control who can bill, invite, generate, and read across your workspace and brands.

Elaris has four workspace roles. Permissions apply at the workspace level and can be further refined per brand grant.

## What can each role do?

    **Full control** over the workspace.

    * Manage billing, subscriptions, and payment methods
    * Add and remove members at any role level
    * Create, edit, and delete brands
    * Allocate and transfer credits
    * Delete the workspace

    **Operational control** without full billing access.

    * Invite and manage members (cannot promote to Owner)
    * Create and configure brands
    * Access most workspace settings
    * Billing access may be restricted depending on configuration
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Member">
    **Creation and generation** within granted brands.

    * Generate images, video, and audio in Studio
    * Run campaigns within assigned brands
    * Cannot manage members or billing
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Viewer">
    **Read-only** access by default.

    * View projects and assets
    * May see a banner to request a higher role
    * Generation may be restricted depending on brand configuration
  </Tab>

## Why can't I generate content?

<Note>
  If you cannot generate, check **both** your workspace role and your brand membership. You need sufficient access at both levels. Viewers or members without brand access will see a permission banner — click it to request a higher role from an Admin or Owner.

Exact permissions can vary by brand grants. Contact your workspace Owner or Admin to update your role.
